Staying focused?

It is a hard thing to do especially with computers, mp3s, and other devices that surround most of us. So what is the solution to this problem? It is to cut the source that is supplying it all. Once that is cut, then work can actually be done and everyone could stay productive. Now that is a problem with me as I must keep my computer running for some reason. I have hard times shutting it down for certain reasons but I must get it down. I noticed my productivity increase when the computer is off, so I think it would be best when it is off.
